The overall experience of visiting Tarkarli and staying at Soham Beach Resort was amazing. There was an initial apprehension with the appearance of the room but we were lucky to be moved to a newly constructed room after a day and that room was much better and sea facing.
Do not expect the room to be like a star-hotel. It\'s basic but not bad. yet again most places in Tarkarli are like that; more like home-stays and budget accommodations accept a few hotels Sagar Sangam, Seaview, etc.
The location of this resort is awesome. Many resorts claim to be \'beach\' resorts but aren\'t this one is right on the beach. Walk 150 meters to reach the serene beach.
Best Experience: Very cooperative care takers and food was excellent. They we very helpful and went out of the way to make other stay comfortable and also accommodated our odd requests like showing us the local fish market or packing some boiled eggs on the way back.
Food is another strong point of this resort. We tried food in some famous places and hotels like Chaitanya and Swami but found the food at the resort\'s homely kitchen much better and tastier.
Worst Experience: Rooms can possibly be maintained better and kept cleaner.
Its a nicely located Rest house connected to the beach.. It has a dense Coconut plantation of around 700 odd Coconut trees.. also its location gives you the advantage to go to the beach at any time... even going for a walk late nights looks comfortable... In context to the rooms and infra, its a simple place to live.. has around 6 A/c rooms with only basic amenities. The New Rooms are facing the beach and are much better than the earlier ones.. To Watch... Sindhdurg fort, Snorkeling, Ganesh Temple, Rock Garden, Chivla Beach, Dolphin\'s in the mid sea and a few Islands around... 3 days holiday is reasonable.. Overall Tarkali is Clean and beautiful coastal region... The design of Sindhadurg fort and Snorkeling around its periphery was a gr8 experience..
Best Experience: The Rest House is some what like a Rural feel place... the more of like a family business.. They are prompt in solving your problems... With context to food... i am a vegetarian and veg food in Malvan/Tarkali is a problem. but sticking to food at soham was a better idea.. Morning snacks were Gr8.. Lunch and dinner used to be a bit monotonous... a better option was to be to MTDC Resort for dinner as it very close by..
Worst Experience: Any food you kept in the room used to be filled with ants... it was only after some pest work done that things were normal... There is load shedding in tarkali on Monday... Though they have inverters to run the fans... but the A/C room is of no sense on a monday...
the family who manages the place is very sweet. the room was basic but very clean. it\'s a very rural feel. it was a bit difficult to communicate since i speak english except for only a few words of hindi. but we managed and things were pretty smooth. also, the electricity was a bit touch and go, but no big deal. great home cooked food, though i agree with the reviewer who said it got a bit monotonous. ask for a veg thali to mix things up.
Best Experience: the beach is huge, gorgeous, and empty. it really is like having your own private beach, just you and the fishermen. you can hear the waves from your room at all times.
the best experience about my visit to tarkarli was the ease of booking at soham resorts. just one phone call from mumbai, and we were done. when we reached there, although the resort was otherwise full, we were welcomed with open arms.
Best Experience: the stay there was pleasant and comfortable. the next day some other customers left for their onward destinations and the rooms were lying vacant. we were offered a free upgrade to a better room with a great view of the sea. the family maintaining the resort are very friendly in nature and they are ready to help with any kinds of queries. was a great experience overall.
I am a senior citizen. I went there with my wife and spent 10 days in Soham resort. Sunil, the manager and his family was at their best to take care of us. Food was delicious. Place was exotic. If you love the song of the sea. That is the place. I thank Holidayiq for guidance. Dr. Manoj Kumar Ray-New Delhi
Best Experience: Location, food and hospitality
Worst Experience: None
