I had gone to Tarkarli Holiday Resort of with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a lovely vacation. This resort is amazing for a 2-3 days relaxed and fun Holiday This resort is located at an amazing place. It is ON THE BEACH! When you get out of your room all you see is beach! TV set is there in the room, but you really do not want it there. It is suggested that we do not compare this hotel to 5star resorts because the location is superb! There are hammocks hung on the pine trees outside every room. If you are vegetarian, there is no variety of food, but for non-vegetarians its a real treat. Sea food offered at the resort is too good and tasty. Typical Malvani style fish curries and crabs are served. There is scuba diving and dolphin rides too, but these are paid activities Service at the hotel is really nice, the staff is friendly and polite. Housekeeping happens timely. Rooms and bathrooms are well kept and clean. Sometimes when there is rush at the restaurant, they may not deliver food to your room, but they tell this very polite that you don't mind going to the restaurant yourself Alcohol is not allowed to be carried on the beach nor in the restaurant. You can have it in your room. You can get it just outside the resort on walking distance. There are some local people who also provide food and dining facilities which are cheaper and equally good. Do not carry alcohol if you are taking your own car to this place it is banned. Vegetarians should carry some dry snacks because you may get bored with the same kind of food I booked a non AC room last time, which was also sea facing however a little further from the sea. I would book an AC Konkani House next time to get a perfectly awesome sea view closest to the beach!
I travelled to this location along with my two other friends Coming to the bad part first, food quality was absolutely pathetic and since no other better option was available nearby we had to live with it Sleep quality was just okay and I would say value for money Now coming to the good part, the resort opens on to the beach and the beach is very serene and clean They have also created play area for kids which is an added advantage of the vacation at this place Average place to stay with a great location !!
Location was excellent right near the beach. Appearance was good but was not well maintained and this needs to be improved. Front desk was efficient, no delays in check-in or checkout. Overall, service was very good. Room maintenance was not up to the mark. Bathroom window was broken. There were no charging point to charge mobiles. They need to do better here as well. Food was okay. It was quite reasonable as well. Both veg and non veg food was available. No extra activities provided there though there is a small park for children there. There are watersports nearby. There were no other problems there.
Great. Mainly due to the location and pristine beach!
Best Experience: Enjoying the heavenly beach just next door
Worst Experience: A) No room service. Hence, even for a morning cup of tea, we had to go to the central cafeteria some distance away. B) No central & private place where our group could sit together and have fun. We had to crowd into someone small hut to do so. C) Timings of meals of the Cafe at MTDC as well as all other places at Tarkarli were very conservative and strict. It was difficult to keep to those, considering we were having our school Reunion after 50 years!!
Barring the limited food choice and the relatively sluggish service, this is one of the best holiday resorts ever seen. The place is not hounded by local tourists yet. The seashore is serene and water relatively clean, distance though is a deterrent.
Best Experience: Morning walk by the sea, meet an occasional turtle, have breakfast, laze in a hammock, sip a cool mug of beer, indulge in some hot & spicy malwan meal (very restricted range of seafood considering the promixity to the sea shore). We also took a ferry to a tiny island about 1km in to the sea.
Worst Experience: The service, especially the room service which is out-sourced to a local one Mr. Mitbawnkar.
