In Three-starr hotels, below are some necessary conditions that should be applied:-
At least 50% rooms should have Air-Conditioners.
Minimum size of bathrooms should be 36 square feet.
One multi-cuisine restaurant cum coffee shop open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and 24 hr room service.
Note: The Ministry of Tourism may review and revise the cities falling under the Grade 'A' & Grade 'B' from time to time.
Grade A: Delhi*, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad/ Secunderabad.
*Delhi would include the hotels falling in Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, NOIDA and Greater NOIDA.
Grade B: Cities in the rest of the country excluding Grade 'A' cities.
There should be a bar present at the hotel premises.
In the kitchen, wet garbage area to be air-conditioned.
Percentage of supervisory staff should be minimum 40%.
Percentage of skilled staff should be minimum 30%. The supervisory or the skilled staff may have training or skill certification as follows:
i. Degree / diploma from Central or state IHM's / FCI's or from NCHMCT affiliated IHM's or from other reputed hospitality schools.
ii. Skill training certificate issued under the guidelines and scheme of the Ministry of Tourism.
Staff restrooms (Separate for male and female employees with bunk beds, well-lighted and ventilated), staff locker rooms and dining area are mandatory.
Paid transportation on call - guest should be able to travel from hotel.
Newspapers should be available in the lounge
Each bedroom door fitted with lock and key, viewport / peephole & internal securing device. A safety chain / wishbone latch is acceptable in place of viewport / peephole.
A telephone for incoming & outgoing calls in the room is mandatory. Three-starr category hotels may go through a telephone exchange.
Self visiting Tirunelveli for official purpose only. Self staying with this hotel since 2006. Monthly minimum 2 days self planing this hotel. The main reason for selecting this hotel is that it is walk able distance from Tirunelveli railway station. Self normally stay in standard A/C room and the ambience of the room is below average only. The superior class room ambience is good. Regarding food vegetarian is good and non vegetarian is not good which is braining from permit room or outside, The reception, room service and housekeeping facility is very good.
The location of the hotel is good. The food is also good. But the ambience leaves a lot to be desired. Cleanliness is also lacking. The appearance of the room was dingy. As wall colours are of dark shade. The staff are courteous. But one surprising thing is only one Mobile phone is allowed WiFi connectivity. They have a long way to go. And it took them to give WiFi password after checking in. And as the room booked by me was not as good as being shown in the pictures in their website I had to go for up gradation of room at extra cost. Not a satisfactory experience.
We stayed in Sri Bharani Hotel to attend a marriage in Tirunelveli. Excellent hotel with all amenities. Room tariff was very reasonable. Rooms and bathrooms were very maintained. It is centrally located and can reach railway station within minutes. The hotel staff are very helpful and accommodative.
Excellent hotel with good facilities and good view. Food also tasty and very courteous staff. We had good WiFi connection also. Even tea coffee was very good. Rooms were very clean. Bathrooms were hygienic and well maintained. The tariff also very reasonable. Overall we had good experience.
Without doubt one of the favourite hotels I stayed during my time in Tamil Nadu! Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the Front Office Staff, our names were mentioned on the reservation board and we were upgraded to the Penguin Suite. The staff was extremely friendly, the restaurant very flexible (appreciate this! And the restaurant supervisor deserves a special thanks. We had two great mornings here, which obviously also added up to the experience The first day we have been to the Ten Kasi Viswanathar Temple, Courtallam Falls and the Nellaiappar Temple in the car organized by the hotel with the driver, Mr. Raghu, who is extremely friendly & supportive who have also guided us to make the trip very much pleasant We loved the ambience of the AC Restaurant and overall we got thrilled by the quality of the services by each & every staff who served us Note, this is not a 4 or 5-star hotel or so, but the atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to us. All respect for the hotel management specially Front Office Manager, Danial who does a great job here. A true sample of excellent hospitality!
