My family and I stayed at Stream Garden Villa Wayanad. It was an excellent experience as the location is absolutely breathtaking. There is a stream flowing in front of the cottages and also a waterfall nearby . . The cottages are twin house villas nestled in a coffee plantation with large sit out to enjoy the garden view. The food is prepared at the kitchen adjacent and it was really good. Here we could experience the nature at its best If you are a nature lover who would like to take an off from the busy city life, this is the place to be. The road connecting the villa to main road is a plantation road where you could take your car or can be parked in a facility near main road. The staff is really helpful which made our trip memorable Next time my visit to Stream Garden will be in full preparation for a trek to Chembra Peak. This will be a three hour trek to 2100m high Chembra Peak the highest point. Stream Garden will be an ideal place to be the base camp as it is situated at the foothills of Chembra Peak. Overall a great place to stay for a relaxing and rejuvenating experience .
Coffea aroma is a pretty and peaceful place to stay. The resort has been done up well with lots of greenery as it was originally a plantation. Since it was our honeymoon destination, my husband and I decided to stay in the Honeymoon Cottage. The cottage was spacious and absolutely spic and span. The best part was that there was a waterfall right behind our cottage which we had all to ourselves.
A big advantage of staying at Coffea Aroma is that it is the base to the famous Chembra Peak. The staff at the resort made all the arrangements for our trek to the peak including hiring a guide and sending us a packed breakfast! Games facilities such as carrom & badminton are available. The area which is used for playing carrom would also serve as a dance floor and there is a good music & sound system.
Best Experience: The food was delicious! We relished every meal that we had there!
The waterfall behind our Cottage was like our very own and we spent hours sitting by the waterfall and dipping our feet in it. Bliss!
Worst Experience: Can't use the term worst for any of our experiences. Drawback is a better word.
The resort is not very accessible and one has to depend on transport arranged by the resort. The rates for cabs are rather expensive.
Language was another issue. We did not know Malayalam and the resort staff were not very fluent in English. Yet we managed to communicate with some extra effort. The funniest part was when we decided to be bold enough to return to the resort from a certain point after the trek where the guide left us and got thoroughly lost. It was quite a task trying to explain to the staff on the telephone where exactly we were!
Since the resort is rather out of the way, perhaps getting staff is a problem. Hence the bell boy served as a guide, waiter and even a masseur!
My wife and me decided to go for an extended weekend (Friday being a Holi Holiday). We browsed through number of options on TripAdvisor from Ooty to Pondicherry. Finally we freeze in on Wayanad- Greenex Farms I called up the manager Ms Chikki and she offered me a good deal for the stay. We were asked to call up Ms Chikki once we reached Chundale Petrol pump where one of the person would meet us and take us to Greenex Farms. Grreenex Farms is 2 km off road The route to the farm from the main road not metaled and my car was hitting against rocks on the uneven road. Ensure your car has a good ground clearance space:) After 20 min of drive through the bumpy road we reached Greenex Farms. The staff was pretty friendly, we were served welcome drinks, and took us to our room - we chose Petunia -hut shaped with curved glasses. Best part was the bathroom which is outside but has a private access. We rested for sometime and then strolled around the place, beautiful place with plenty of activities to do. Badminton, Cricket, Cycling, Trekking. For dinner we had bonfire and were served 6 starters and Awesome meals. Overall, amazing experience.
It was very good and a pleasant hotel to stay in but it is located a bit far from the city. The interior and exterior appearance of the hotel was rich in look. The staff and services at the hotel were helpful and quick to respond specially Siraj- a person from staff was very co-operative. The quality and quantity of the food was good at hotel restaurant. I had booked for a suit at this hotel since there was a partition in the room, I felt a bit uncomfortable but it was well maintained with all good amenities. There were no activities and sightseeing trips organized by the hotel management so we made our own arrangements. There were no delays in check-in and check-out process. The tariff at this hotel was good and valuable so I would recommend this hotel too. This was my family trip to this hotel, which we enjoyed it.
Good Service and hospitality. Keep away during rainy season
The resort should be a treat if you are not visiting in rainy season. Its wonderfully located near a waterfall and provides good service. Unfortunately for us we visited during the rainy season and that too without a prior reservation. Never do that The plantation is off the main road by a few kms and it was completely muddy and could only be traversed by the resort jeep. There is no way your average car or even SUV reaches the resort gates without taking some damage. We did opt for a wooden cottage. Again a rookie mistake as they were damp and the bathroom was had bugs, snails and some other slimy creatures All that being said, the resort was located nicely in the woods and had a great view. The food was great and so was the service.
