Wafer thin fish slices!

Traffic jams and Pot holed roads are symbiotic. Uncontrolled highrise Construction activity is eroding Greenery with cataclasmic speed! Unruly visitors and their unchecked arrogance is rubbing off on Locals Taxi drivers ( barring Few) will eventually have to tolerate entry of UBER? Ola so beware !. South Goa is more pristine than Commercially exploited North Goa.

Nice place but not so nice people

Let Me categorize my Goa review in 4 stages . . A. Hotel - Doubletree by Hilton. Be. Car / Bike Rental near the Hotel - Sunny's. C. Beaches. The. Titto's. AWESOMEEE !!! The service is absolutely at the next level. This was my second luxury hotel stay, so overall I was a bit skeptical whether they can beat Le meridien or not. But, obviously Doubletree by Hilton was a winner, given the prices they offered. Excellent service at every corner of the hotel. For me, there was a downside, that I am a smoker and all of the rooms were non smoking. My wife very much enjoyed this part. Obviously, I must agree that the administration wants to give the non smokers a peace of mind. Overall, the stay was very much up to my expectation. The best thing happened when we checked out in the morning, and got drenched completely by the overwhelming rain of Goa; When we came back the hotel staff gave us a place to change, and warm towels, while we were shivering from cold. The break fast menu was well spread and I believe everyone can find a choice of their taste in that. Wish them all the best, especially the Bengali guy, from security. He volunteered to help us, when he saw us entering the hotel, shivering Most ill behaved guy I've ever met, sorry I might be over reacting, but at least it seemed like that, as I heard previously Goans are very warm and welcoming in nature. That's absolutely bull shit myth. This guy Sunny shouldn't exist just outside Double Tree by Hilton. It just can't. You are in a very nice warm environment, while in the hotel, and get out to rent a bike and you face this mad. I even had to beg for a helmet, whereas I heard that helmets are given with the bikes. He doesn't even have any choices, only Scooty or Thar With an intention to hire a hatch, I went there but there was this mad person with only two offering. I just had to choose, because the next rental was a little far. The rate he gave for Thar, was for peak season, 3500 /day. I tried to bargain a bit, as that was rainy / off season. And he straight way asked where was I from, meaning to question my buying capacity. So, I thought of giving him the pleasure, and said, 'Yes, Sir !! You are right, I'm unable to pay for the car, so you must give me two wheeler then !! ' Listening to me addressing him as, he became forgiving in nature and let go of my birth place / history / race. And I thought of not insulting myself again, and agreed with the price he said, I. E ., 400/day. And, as soon as I said I'd hire the Scooty for 1 day not the previously mentioned 3 days ( I slipped while I was trying to rent the Thar), he said either I'll have to take it for three full days, or I need to walk it off from hotel So, there was basically no option from me than to rent it from him. The less I say about him, the better I shouldn't say anything about beaches. Every body knows about the pristine & serene beaches nice place, legendary place. No need to exaggerate. The crowd is not the same, as I had heard from my uncles. Although, you should be extra careful, while you're coming out of that place drunk, with a cigarette. The police are going to charge you heftily.

Goa -beach Paradise

Part from the normal beach you have the fresh water pool which one needs to walk a bit. As we had skipped breakfast we were very hungry and after everyone was ready we went to Morjim beach which was again filled with foreigners. Here there are numerous shack restaurants providing good food at a reasonable price. We had lunch at Bollywood planet where we tried sea food, though food was good the service was very slow as they prepare stuff after we give the order. The beach is safe with lifeguards around and you see lots of tourists and sun-beds. You also have water sports like paragliding, water boats etc. We then went back to Arambol beach and went in the water. Even though the sun had set and was cold the water was still warm.

Warmth & hospitality of Goans & the alluring beaches are irresistible

Goa is blessed to have so many beaches, fauna & flora. So many waterfalls in full flow because of the rains - some hidden in interiors as if playing hide & seek . Some beaches were DIRTY & an eye sore whilst the others were fun . . Interior roads need widening . Transport (cabs & autos) are frighteningly expensive. Even metros & Kerela are cheaper . Food, music, dance, sport - wonderful .

Amazing destination

Goa is beautiful and awesome even in monsoons. Its a all year around destination now. Beautiful beaches & caters to all kind of travelers north Goa has it all. Beautiful beaches to relax, water sports & night life. Restaurants & bars & street side shopping. I stay at Candolim now as I have my own apartment which I recently purchased. Baga is famous for nightlife & bars. Further north is good option if looking for peaceful beaches or south Goa watersports are suspended in monsoons. So missed out on that.

If flying in, you have a prepaid taxi at the airport though during peak hours one may have to wait for sometime. I have my regular taxi driver since I visit often. Commuting around is bit expensive but one can hire 2 wheelers & ride around. But in peak season they are expensive & not easily available. Avoid going around new years eve since it gets very crowded & accommodation is almost sold out or super expensive even for a small room. Monsoon showers are pretty heavy so be prepared for downpours & water logging but its still very green & breathtaking.
