While boarding they gave a bottle of water. After that they gave soup and bread stick. Then the lunch came as I opted for non-veg, then in evening coffee came along with that they served biscuit. Then they served soup at around 7 Pm, and at 8 Pm they served dinner and followed by ice cream. Next morning they served coffee and then breakfast. Like wise the next day passed and at evening I reached my destination.

The train No 12864 that is Yeswantpur Howarh Express is one of the good train for travelling to Howarh as it runs on time and is always is the right train to choose. If any body wants seat in this they must book there tickets four months before when bookings are open on the same day because ticket availability is very bad in this train.

As usual journey. People flocked in the coaches as many wanted to go to Kolkata for one reason or the other and the food was always as it has been described from the ancient times. One would have done sins, to travel in one of these train and then also the rates are going higher and higher. No one cares about the people in the sleeper coaches.

We always take this train (Yeshwantpur-Howrah SF Express) as the timings are very convenient. We board the train at 8.pm after work and reach early morning the day after next, effectively wasting only a day in train.

The AC 3 has comfortable seats and is usually clean. The bedding is adequately clean. Cockroaches have always been a menace in this train (and most trains with a pantry). The toilets are clean by most train standards.

The train passes through a few big stations like Vijayawada, Vishakhapatnam, Bhubaneswar and Kharagpur. The food at Comesum at Vijayawada is good. They deliver food at your seat.

The food offered in the train is hardly passable. Vendors from the pantry and stations offer a lot of snacks and refreshments all through the day. The Train in generally 30-45 minutes late every time.

Initially mom and dad were very reluctant in travelling such a distant place from Kolkata (which is Bangalore) by train. That time Duronto train was just introduced and we were getting mixed reviews about it. But keeping all those reviews aside, I booked a ticket for 3 in Hwh-Yesvantpur Duronto. When the journey ended in Bangalore by train following things I noted -

1. As most of the passengers travelling with us were first timers. We all were speechless when the train reached Bangalore in a span of 25 hours with an hour to spare than the original.

2. The travel was very comforting. Bathrooms clean. OK OK food. I would recommend you to carry some homemade ones.

3. Enough charging points. Clean interiors. Very good for travelling with the elderly people.
