"Fast and beautiful train and wonderful journey"

The train journey was great.the service ,as with all rajdhani's, was fast and copius..in fact,i put on a kg or so because of all the food the staff was handing out all the time(think we had 7 meals in as many hours).the staff was corteous and responsive. when my wife fell ill cause of the high ac,they turned it down and got medicine, without me even having to ask. the toilets were clean.the bedding was spotless and odour-free. We were travelling in 2nd A/c,and though our seats were far apart, the staff found us 4 seats together.and the best part was they didnt pester us for tips. Great ttrain journey..i would highly recommend it over flights if you have the time.

"A comfortable & memorable journey in Rajdhani "

4.3/5

Posted 20 March, 2016

This train is launched in Nov 2015 a fulfillment of a long pending Rajdhani from the national capital to the coastal state. It is a Bi-weekly Train No-22414 which leaves from H. Nizamuddin at 10:55 hrs on every Friday and Saturday and reach Madgaon at 12:55 hrs on the next day. We travelled in second AC & the coaches were new, seats were cushiony, bottle holders, adjustable reading lights and mirrors were intact. The linen we got was clean and the food was passable. Toilets were clean and the coaches were cleaned twice. We enjoyed our time chatting up, playing board games & reading comics on day 1. Next day morning was a delight. The train passes through a large number of tunnels, beautiful rural settlements. We were told that it offers a spectacular view of Dudhsagar waterfalls during monsoon.

"This train runs on time and the toilets are clean"

I visited Goa with my friends by train named mangla lakshadweep superfast express runs from Nizamuddin railway station to Ernakulam. I got down at Margao railway station for Goa. This train runs on time and the toilets are clean. Then went for hotel to stay. Hotels are available in cheapest rate near railway station, you can stay there according to your budget. If you wanna travel by train then the reservation should be done 3 months in advance or you have to book tatkal for Goa. After reaching goa I visited at first the colva beach situated just 6 km from margao. Transportation is available to the beach it is one of the famous and preferred holiday locations in goa. I enjoyed very much with my friends. The climate of goa is amazing. You can watch sunset in beach. There are many famous sea beaches are available in goa you should visit all.

"Travel with a clear conscience"

It was 28th April, 2015 and I was very excited because I was going to my native place, GOA with my mother and this time by train! Our train was scheduled to depart by 10:55 a.m. As soon as the train came into the platform, the passengers rushed to get into the train. There was a little commotion as passengers searched for their seats. With a lot of difficulty we could find our seats and placed our luggage.

"A great experience "

It was a great experience for me as I don't travel a lot but as a student I had to travel for my studies there as a industrial trip but as I travel, the more I came closer to the nature. The train stop at various places and at some random places and i with my other friends click some photos and enjoyed the whole journey by playing, singing and yelling in tunnels which was really a new experience and mad thing I had ever done. Since I don't travel a lot I thought how I would go in toilet as I already saw the condition in other trains but I was amazed as the toilet and other services were far better than my expectation. Even I loved the food and refreshments I bought in train which I usually avoid. So the overall journey was not painful as I first thought and the industrial trip converted to simply the trip to Goa for me and my friends.

One doesn't have numerous train options if planning to visit GOA. The ages old Goa express with numerous stops takes around 36hrs approx. To reach Vasco which is equidistant from North and South goa. I found that the only Rajdhani 12432 travelling to GOA, crosses over Madgaon (MAO). Right outside the station is a Pre-paid taxi stand they charged me INR 300/= to reach Colva Residency. The closest and famous beach destination is COLVA, 8 kms. You can also stay in Benaulim or Majorda depending on your choice. Colva is one of the popular South Goa beaches. Good eating joints, hotels, taxi stand, auto stand, bus stand right close to the beach. Colmar residency, Colva residency ( Goa Tourism), Oyo rooms are some good mediocre options 3. 5/5 ratings. Garden Restaurant is highly recommendable for Indian, Goan delicacies. Their kitchen is visible from the sitting area. I would rate them a 8/10 on 3 parameters Quality, Quantity and Price.

"A wonderful journey "

3.9/5

Goa is one of the most sought-after and fantastic tourist destinations in India. After my trip to the place I have discovered that it has much more than just the beaches to offer. The Journey started on the 18th of August last year. We, a family of 4, boarded the train (Rajdhani) from Delhi. We had initially considered the option of travel by air but after this train journey we unanimously agreed that our choice was right. It was a wonderful feeling traveling through the serene landscapes. We traveled in 3rd AC coach of the train and was provided with food from the Railway caterers, sufficient to suppress the hunger but hygienic. Once we reached there our first job was to get to our hotel, where we had earlier booked our accomodation. It took more than an hour as we went from South-East Goa to West Goa. On the way to our hotel I just couldn't help but notice the calm and tranquility of the place. Our hotel was situated very close to one of the beaches (Dona Paula beach). We settled down in our rooms from where we had a nice view of the sea although the beach there was quite filthy. We had our meals that night nearby in a restaurant and went to sleep. Next morning, we set out on our explorations. First we went to South Goa which is more famous for it's churches and the OLD GOA charm. We took a town bus trip from the central market i.e Panjim. First place we went to was the Bassilica cathedral devoted to St. Fransis Xavier. This is a huge monument with wonderful ornate sculptures. Right beside there was the St. Cathedral which was even more magnificent and I was told that it was the biggest Church in whole of Asia. Then we went to see the point where Vasco Da Gama had set foot for the first time where there is a monument in his respect. After all this we came back to Panjim where we decided to spend the evening in a cruise trip which is conducted on a nearby river daily. This mini ship has a DJ playing to people's choices. This went on for more than 2 hours. We had nice fun there. It was a nice way to wind up the day. The next morning we had planned to go around some of the beaches. We had hired a Qualis for the purpose. That day we first went to Fort Aguada. This is a Portuguese era structure overlooking the Arabian sea which is now in a not so well maintained state. Still it offers nice views and numerous opportunities for the tourists to take some snaps. Then we went first to Sinquerim beach, then to Vagator beach and finally to Calangute beach. Calangute is the main centre at North Goa with a bustling market and always choc-a -bloc with tourists. We had a sea-bath at Calangute, played some volleyball there. Then we headed straight to the Anjuna beach. Coming back we spent some time at the Miramar beach which was quite close to our base there. Now it was our last day of stay there. We were a bit tired by all the hectic activities in the past 2-3 days. So we woke up and relaxed a bit at the swimming pool in the resort we were staying. Then we set out on a mission of roaming around as much as possible. First we went to the Panjim market where we had lunch and did some shopping. There we saw another great looking church which I, figured out ,has been shown in movies. Then we headed towards East Goa which is mainly the territory called Vasco. That is an awesome place. Roaming around Goa is such a soothing feeling as you mostly have green paddy fields (sply in Monsoon time), sleepy villages and tranquility to accompany with and very little traffic, unlike Delhi. We tried a lot of delicious sea food there. The restaurants in Goa are quite affordable and rates of liquor are quite cheap. We couldn't indulge in water, being the rainy season these activities were closed as the sea is a bit disturbed at this time of the year. Next morning, we were in the same train back to Delhi. Again we were treated to the splendid and delightful sights of the mountains and thus finished our joy-ride!!!

The train compartment was comfortable and the meal was good, timely served and tasty. The washrooms were clean much to my preferences. However, this train doesn't seem to be punctual. Looks like it is always late. I would prefer an air route the next time.

"Looking to enjoy Goa trip with medium budget, then train can be the best option"

5.0/5

If you are looking to enjoy Goa Trip with Medium Budget, then travelling with train can be the best option for you. However it takes 36 hrs to reach Goa from New Delhi but you will enjoy the train journey booking your berth in 2 A/C with your friends or family members. I also traveled to Goa from Delhi on 26th Aug, 2013 and reached Goa on 28th August. It was a fascinating trip with my Family and for the first trip on train for my infant baby daughter Khyati was supposed to turn 1 year old on 29th of very same month. The trip was very special for us and for me as well as my wife as we both were travelling to Goa for the first time after our wedding. We enjoyed lot of scenic views on the way to Goa, travelling across the small hills of Chambal Ghats and moving along the caves in Amravati. We enjoyed the train trip a lot.
