The trip was awesome and we really enjoyed the trip. Please eat on the go, try to find the food at the junctions on the way. We have got a nice company on the way to enjoy and a cute was also there to play with. The journey is very hot in summer so go in a free wear.

It's a nice train, you get whole day when travelling from Hyderaba to Bangalore. Leaves at around 7 pm from Hyderabad and reaches Bangalore early morning. Then from Bangalore you can take Shatabdi to Mysore for people who doesn't prefer road travel. From Mysore we had a cab booked which took us to Coorg.

We had stayed at Mysore on our return journey from Coorg to Bangalore.

Don't remember the name of the train that I travelled but there are too many options from Bangalore to Mysore. There are couple of times I think which start early in the morning and then again post afternoon. So based on our travel schedule it is better to have glance at the options before and then plan the travel accordingly.

It was my first visit to Mysore few months ago along with my mother. The overall experience I would say that it was just more than good with complete courteousness and down to earth friendly staff. We were taken good care right from the moment we entered into the hotel and till we checked out...more »

There is only one direct train from Hyderabad to Mysore and it take over 15 hrs and runs on specific days. I wanted to travel by train as we have small kids, took the Rajdhani thinking this would be good. Midway getting into a super fast express is not the best thing to do as you get berths based on availability and not always together. Food was nothing to talk about, bed-sheets given were damp and had to fire the contractors to get clean and dry bed-sheets. From Bangalore traveled by car to Mysore took 3 hrs to reach there and the journey was easy but long for 134 kms. Would recommend that you should either go by direct train, or flight or even by road but do not break your journey
