The train starts 15 minutes late(12:15)at bandra station. We board the train "first A/C" and find that the coach is not only dirty but everything about it is not right. We thought maybe we entered a wrong coach and request TTe for the information and he tells that its right coach. So. The floor literally looked like it has never ever been cleaned. It looked black with layers of dirt, there were very awkward staircase to climb up, and under that staircase is a cabinet, for whatever convenience, it was filled with old plastic and tea cups and other food rests. The seat cum bed was full of chai spills and other stains. Seeing all this I request our cabin steward to have it cleaned he answers they are busy somewhere else and it will be taken care as soon as possible. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP. In the end at 7.45 the cleaning team showed up and wanted to show off. And after spending 1 minute and half in out cabin went away. I requested them to clan the cabin thoroughly, they had no idea about what hygiene was, and argued every move they made in the name of cleaning.
After 5 minutes the supervisor of the cleaning team comes with a big register, where he wanted me to fill the review and explain the "great" experience we were having onboard the first class. I honestly gave them below zero on everything. What rightfully they deserved, the supervisor on my honesty got all red and started arguing and begging for the five star points, and wining about his salary that he earns with the points given by the passengers. Since it was an experience never to be repeated again I said so. But I feel sorry for those passengers who nevertheless are paying to be treated as they do and feel obligation to give five stars to such services they will never ever experience a five star service as they are just happy with the that they are treated, I spoke to fellow passengers in neighbour cabins and all seemed very happy complaining, "kyaa karen, bahut bura hai, sarkaar kee hee galti hai" their complains are just as a old grandmother who has no power in anything so they are happy with whatever is tossed their way. It pains me.

We had planned out trip to Amritsar, Dalhousie & Dharamshala. We had started planning for the trip the month of September so that everything is set before we start travelling.

We had booked our trip with Sampuranam Yatra Pvt Ltd. Everything seems going smooth while planning the trip. They asked us to make 50 % payment for the booking and rest was to be paid on arrival. But on arrival the scene was totally different. They took their 50% profit than never gave us service & assistance when we were struggling.

There was no booking done in any hotel. The asked us to pay from the remaining 50 % which was pending. There was no proper arrangement. The driver did not knew many routes we had to guide him through our GPS. There was no proper coordination between Driver, the hotel & the travel agent team. Those going on trip to north do not plan your trip with Sampurnam Yatra Pvt Ltd.

We had been to this hotel in Jan'16. This a decent hotel where the room cost is approx 800 per night. The hotel is located in Queens Road, crystal junction which is close to the station. This place is close to Golden temple, Jallianwala baug & the main market. It located in the prime location...more »

The Golden Temple Express (Frontier Express) is one of the country's excellent trains. The train was clean, the pantry service was prompt. Most importantly, the train was almost on time - we were about 10 minutes late than the expected time of arrival at Amritsar.

The toilets were kept clean by the railway management and had ample supply of water and soap through out the journey.

I travelled by Golden Temple Express with my 5 family members in 3-tier AC. Compartments were clean and good with good AC system. Toilets were clean and attendants were also very helpful. On Bharuch Station we bought salty nuts. On the H.Nizammuddin Station we bought Chinese food and Rajasthani Khakra too.

If you are travelling by this train its going to be very long about 36 hours journey from Mumbai. Its better to take Rajdhani from Mumbai to Delhi and then Shatabdi Express to Amritsar if your budget permits. Since both the trains are premium and expensive in compared to other direct options. Ordinarily in train nothing to boast about but it can be bit hygiene issues as journey progresses.
