"Quite & Fun place"

Jul 21, 2015
If you are fan of off beat places then Pondicherry is one for you. Quite beaches laid back people just add the right amount of fund to this place. I was really tired and bored of all the malls and night life so I decided to head to Pondicherry one weekend.

Backwaters of Pondicherry is a must see, you can visit local churches, shops and if you are not a vegan like me, you can surely enjoy some sea food here. Aureville centre and Matrimandir is must see it is situated little far off the city say about 20 Km. But its worth the time. You can rent a bike or hire a cab or auto to reach Aureville centre.

It was built for the global citizen no matter how much I describe it you gotta see yourself to experience the mystic Charm. Do visit the French Consulate here this yellow building by the sea side is quite a delight to watch. Amazing Fact is people of Pondicherry have right to vote for French Elections & hold dual citizenship.

Museum, Park & the temples are delightfully welcome you in all seasons, but it is strongly advisable to visit during winters as in summers it really get hot and humid in here. You really do not want your vacation to be spoiled by sun stroke. Consume lots of liquid while in Pondicherry, and local Narial Pani (coconut water) just you need to get you going in humid weather. Happy Travelling People!

"Excellent place to visit"

Nice place, but too hot better to visit in the month of December to February, book AC room only, walk in French colony is nice, beach and beach side road are attractive, specially in the night and evenings, since no vehicles, kids play in the road was not allowed, auroville is another attraction, 8 kilometres from city, aurobindo ashram, vinayaka Temple, paradise Beach, Sunday market, churches, are best, museum is not worth visiting, chidambaram Temple is 50 kilometres, half day worth visiting,

"Nice place for a weekend"

Jul 20, 2015
Pondicherry being a small city, can be covered on a weekend. Mix of French and Tamil heritage gives it a distinct look, feel and culture. Also Auroville, the global township being there in the outskirts of this city, makes international cuisine available everywhere. Pondicherry can be a foodie's paradise for this reason. The seaside Promenade is one of the must-visit places in the city.

Pondicherry is a very nice city with Promenade street being the highlight. The cafe at Promenade (sea-facing) is superb with amazing delicacies at cheap prices.

You can click some really nice pics on Promenade and the architecture of this city is beautiful. Do visit Auroville and Matrimandir. It's worth a visit.

"Pleasant trip to Pondicherry"

Super experience. Only caution - play in the beach in the early morning or early evening. Any time after 10 am till 5 pm will cause suntan and will cause damage to your skin, especially in children.

You can try continental cuisine in the town. There are historical places to visit. You need to spend at least one full day roaming the streets and enjoying.
