Beautiful Bentota

We went to Bentota after visiting Kandy and Nur Alliya. The undulating terrain around Nur Alliya was quite scenic but the beach of Bentota was really very beautiful. The sea was not calm like Puri in Orrisa whereas it was not that rough either. There was dark black cloud build up in the horizon in the evening, giving indication of very heavy downpour. The evening breeze was so soothing. The sunset over the ocean was spectacular . . Next morning we went to Galle. The drive to Galle Fort was very smooth. Quite a part of the journey was by the coast. Mid way, there is a majestic Buddha statue, in the memory of the large scale tsunami deaths. Also, there was fun filled boat ride in the Madu Ganga River. The ride was at times through man groves, adding thrills. In between, we stopped for visit to Cinnamon plantation and Foot message therapy center. The message is actually nibbling of dead skins from the feet by the ever hungry fishes - which is really very refreshing . Galle city is quite a busy place. The roads are full of vehicles, however without any traffic snarls. The Galle fort is really a well built monument. The water in the Galle beach is crystal clear and of truly ocean blue colour . Apart from the museums and other human built monuments, the Breadfruit tree was very interesting. The original tree - brought to the place by the European is still well growing, which is more than 100 years old !. The visit to Bentota and Galle was really much enjoyable and we will not mind being there once again in near future.
