Magical place with a confluence of history and modernism

We visited Madinat Jumeirah on a cold windy December afternoon on many of our friends' recommendations. The place was head and shoulders above our imagination and expectations. Situated right next to the 7-star hotel, Burj Al Arab, this place transports you to a different place as soon as you enter. It goes by the name "Souk" Madinat Jumeirah, which means it's lined with shops and restaurants but in a very modern setting. The architecture of the place takes you to a traditional Arabic city with its allies and creeks. You can also take a ride in the traditional houseboats or 'abras' and explore the place. But in case you don't like to venture into water, you can simply walk around and the place won't cease to amaze. There are innumerable spots with a magnificent views. The souk has luxury stores, some medium-budget and also a few places to collect souvenirs. Apart from that, there are many restaurants to suit all budget ranges. I had coffee and a Cinnabon which was perfect on that chilly day.In short, it's a must-visit place for everyone who's in Dubai. Located in prime tourist area, Madinat Jumeriah is mesmerizing and different in its own ways.I recommend going in the day if it's your first time there. But if you're in mood for having a candlelit dinner right by the waterways, this place even offers that. Do carry a camera and make wonderful memories!
