Only the cable car is worth the money!

Cable car ride is close to 30 min with breath taking views and good smooth joyful ride. On reaching the top, there are couple of food joints and small area for families and couples to relax and rest up. You can watch couple of 4d shows and live martial arts but there is nothing much for photos and views. The place is pretty commercialized.

Amazing buddha monastery

Lantau Island where the Giant Buddha is located is an amazing place to be. The cable car ride was also fabulous. I had gone there with my colleagues.

Very nice place but sadly fog covered

The cloudy weather was the only bad thing during my visit to The Big Buddha statue. Could not see much outside from the ropeway either.Make sure you read the weather report before you land up here.

Must visit in Hong Kong specifically those who believe in heritage

Big Buddha is a great place to visit in Hong Kong and can be said as a must visit. It is quite peaceful and you can find a great travel way to this destination. Specifically the Cable Car is enjoyable from where you can see the complete view of the River and also the Airport of Hong Kong. The food available at the place is also good. You can make it a day visit if you have sufficient time.

The view and serenity is not to be missed

Do take the glass bottom cable car which goes across the ocean and the mountain. We took both way cable but way down by bus can be economical. Spend time in the Tea house Li-Nong, worth a visit. The walk up the steps to the Buddha was tedious but the view and serenity is not to be missed. Do visit the monastery. Elaborate sculpture. Visited on Buddha's birthday so was lucky to catch up with the prayer. The food kiosks were busy. And chocobloc at lunch. Went to Ebenezer to catch up with lunch. Found it over priced and shabbily maintained. The cable car is charged for as other transport while the visit to the temple was free. The cable car on the onward/return journey, eats up a lot of time queuing up. Worth going by cable and coming back by bus to save time.

Fantastic view and thrilling

A place hides in between d hills. This place is situated in a valley and surrounded by hills. On top of one hill is the Giant Buddha. Can reach by bus, which takes about an hour plus or, by cable car with fantastic aerial view and a thrilling journey for that ride for the first in cable car.
