Definitely worth a visit

A sumptuous, relatively modern, palace on the Bosporus. From Gulhane we boarded the T1 tram and got down at its last stop: Kabatas. From there it was a short stroll along the Bosporus to the gates of the palace. The grounds are lovely. The palace has two sections, neither of which you can stroll through on your own. You have to join a group. Our English speaking guides were succinct and I guess could have been more interesting/interactive - but that would I guess lengthen the duration of the tour. Lots of beautiful things to see.
