What to do : Marvel at all-wood temple carvings

Ranked 2 of 38 sightseeing in Pattaya

Also christened Wang Boran, the Sanctuary of Truth facing the sea in Northern Pattaya is a wooden temple adorned with traditional Buddhist and Hindu motifs. Construction work still underway, a plan to complete it by 2050 is under execution. Incorporating the Khmer style of architecture, all the wooden sculptures symbolise the juxtaposition of present-day visionary art with ancient religious beliefs. Towering at a height of 100 meters, the entire temple premises accounts for an area of 1 acre.

Under construction temple with excellent structure

This is one of the must see places of Pattaya. This is a temple dedicated to buddha. The temple stands stunningly attractive along the beach. All the outer and inner walls of the temple were decorated with hindu gods and buddhas 3d projected statues which makes the temple in and out so beautiful. The roofs are of chinese architecture. The inner portion of the temple is divided into 3 parts while one end is built under the inspiration of indian and the other end to be the inspiration of chinese while the centre sanctum adore the buddhas statue. Since 8 is considered lucky with chinese, every along that part is present with the number8. The mahishasuramardini at the front roof top is soo unique. This comes with a fee of 500 baht which is very high for this temple, so the management should consider in bringing down the entry fee here. You get atuk tuk from your hotel entrance to this place which is some 15baht for a person and thatis quiet nominal. When you go in groups you can have a tuk on you own and share among yourself. Since its under construction be careful while moving around

Wonderful architecture

We went there early morning to escape the scorching heat. The temple was extremely majestic and elegant with all wooden structure including the fittings. They say that metal is not used. The location is scenic as the temple is situated just near the sea. It's a must see for everyone who is visiting Pattaya.
