Ranked 9 of 38 sightseeing in Pattaya

The Sriracha Tiger Zoo lives up to its name. With plenty of tigers in the zoo, there are so many sights that will leave you awestruck in the presence of these magnificent beasts. Located in Sri Racha, on the outskirts of Pattaya. Within the world’s largest tiger zoo, they have shows that feature elephants, crocodiles and pigs apart from the tigers. The Sriracha Zoo is a family friendly place where you can enjoy a fun filled day with all members of your family.

History

Sri Racha, unlike Pattaya, has remained a fishing town. While its southern neighbour has moved o and become a major tourist hot spot, Sri Racha has been a little more stubborn. Though, it has some tourist attractions like the privately run Sri Racha zoo and the beautiful beaches, and a few hotels, it is primarily a fishin town that sees a medley of the traditional and the modern. Seen with the fishing boats and dinghies are the large container ships from the Laem Chabang port nearby.

Reason to Visit

Sriracha zoo knows how to keep all its visitors happy! There are multiple shows and highlights that feature tigers and elephants doing tricks that would seem unimaginable. The tiger show highlights include the tiger feeding piglets or the trainers guiding the tigers through a ring of fire. If tigers don’t fascinate you, you may find the majestic Elephant show more intriguing. Elephants playing with hoola hoops will make sure the children around you laugh out with glee. The gentle creatures are a huge hit with the kids.

The crocodile show is popular amongst tourists. To see those awe inspiring and fearful creatures so close is a life changing experience. Taking that iconic picture with your head within the jaws of the crocodile will ensure you have a story for life.

The other highlights include feeding the animals, especially the Shoot N Feed which involves guns and a bull’s eye or feeding the tiger cubs. You can ride an elephant or watch the Scorpion Queen not bat an eye lid as the too many scorpions sit on her body. These highlights are one of a kind and tourists always enjoy their time spent at the Sriracha Tiger Zoo.

Its all about Tigers and Crocodiless

If you love Tigers, it is the place to be although you can see them in cages or confined boundaries which you will not appreciate if you are a true wildlife lover. After buying the passes we got a map indicating the various points to be covered. The attractions included Tigers, Crocs, Pig race, lots of Cubs in air conditioned cages, places to feed chicken to Tigers by shooting them with a gun and more. There was a point where you can feed baby Tiger and crocs and take pics with them for a charge. At another point, we took pics with an adult Tiger sitting it with side by side while 3 attendants controlled it with mere sticks. It was one hell of an experience. In between, we had some fried chicken which was superb. Croc meat sticks were also available but we didn't try it. The tour of the zoo ends with half hour shows of Tigers, Crocodiles and Elephants in circus like big covered halls. The shows are good with nail biting performances. After the show, you can take pics with crocs for a charge. Overall, it was a good experience.

Take a Photo with Real Tiger

I visited Tiger zoo with my friends. Entry ticket was 400 baht (800rs). There, we saw crocodiles show, pig race, tiger show. The best thing was to take photo with pups of tiger while feeding them milk. Price of taking pic with tiger pups was 200baht (Rs400). You can also take pic with big tiger by giving extra charges. The zol is big, neat and clean. I recommend to visit this.
