International Mountain Museum Ratings & Reviews
Amazing place to learn about world's mountains
Extremely informative and it is a pleasure to visit this museum. There is an auditorium where films on various mountains and Himalayan expeditions are shown. The mountain regions are depicted in different sections and the entire Himalayan region (ex. Sherpas) also has its own section. The memorabilia of the first Everest expedition and several famous mountaineers are depicted very nicely. Must visit.
A beautiful museum and must see tourist attraction
The museum was very neat, spacious and well-maintained. The locals were very friendly. Had a nice time viewing all the pieces in the museum. It is a must see tourist attraction.
A must see for Mountaineering enthusiasts
It is a real good place to learn about history of the evolution of Earth and how mountains came into the picture and how Himalayas took shape. The display of the Mountaineering dresses worn by statues [Mannequins] clearly displays the cold climate that one would experience during the mountaineering and trekking. The gas jars, the protective gear, and the goods that have been brought down from the Himalayas however reflect a sad story about those lost individuals and the garbage being dumped up there in the Mountains. Take a snap with those unforgettable dresses for mountaineering and you will cherish them. The respect given to the first climbers and the Greats of Nepal. and those who have created other records also is a must to watch.
