Heaven for nature lovers

We went to the conservatory complex housing two huge conservatories - Flower Dome & Cloud Forest Flower Dome is smaller in height but spread across a vast space showcasing flowering plants from all across the globe Cloud Forest is tall in height & comparatively less spread out at base. It has a cloud mountain in between from which a 25 meter waterfall descends below. The visitors have elevator access to reach the top & a circular path around the mountain to come down.

Must Visit when in Singapore

Good place to visit with family and kids, the 2 domes are good especially the clout forest is one of it's kind and you'll love it for sure. The giant tress glow in the night offering a spectecular view, and the show in the evening at Supertree grove is a nice treat to the eyes.

Excellent indoors and outdoors gardens

The "Gardens by the Bay" is a fantastic place to visit when in Singapore. It's on the outer edge of city and touches the sea on one side and the Sands hotel of Marina bay, on the other side. There are three attractions here. The large outer gardens have exotic plants/ trees from various parts of the world and man made futuristic steel trees that capture sunlight to generate electricity for use in the gardens. The outer open gardens are free. One can also take a electric vehicle to go around quickly after paying a small amount. The other two sections- with entry tickets- are of glass domes, one with variety of trees and flowering plants, cactus types and fine creations from dead trees. The second one is superb creation of cloud forest in multistory. It's very difficult to describe the superb plant life in controlled environs and one has to be there to greatly appreciate the efforts. With waterfalls, insect eating plants, creepers, vast variety of flowers. Very vast to cover in a review.Nature lovers will be astounded to be amidst such a beautiful place.

Man made tree structures with vertical gardening

Gardens by the bay is located opposite marina bay sands. These are basically a set of huge man made super tree structures on which they have done vertical gardening. It is done very well. We reached the place by mrt (bay front, on red line, is the closest mrt station). They have made a little sky walk bridge between two super trees, you can walk up on these to get a good bird eye's view of the neighboring area. A small fee of SGD 5 is to be paid to go up. Apart from this, there are two domes - flower dome and cloud forest. These are temperature controlled dome like green houses. The flower dome, as the name suggests, has multiple variety of flowering plants. When we visited they had the tulip festival going on. Cloud forest on the other hand is made to give you a feel of a tropical forest. Since it is temperature controlled, it does get a little chilly, so carry a light jacket or stole. Also, be sure to visit these places during day time such that you end by 7:45 (so you can see the lighting in the domes and also catch the 7:45 light and sound show - this show is free of cost). Last access to the domes is at about 8/8:30. Pass to visit both domes is for SGD 28 per person.

Temperature controlled, greenhouse with a tropical forest theme

Cloud forest is a dome shaped green house with a tropical forest theme. The main attraction is the huge waterfall over which they have done vertical gardening. We went here in the evening. We started from the top, ie the lost world, then through cloud walk to the cavern. From here we went to the point from where you can seen the entire waterfall from the top - this view is stunning! Further down there is a show on earth check and +5 degree.. It takes about 30-40 minutes to cover the entire dome. Entry fee is SGD 16 for just the forest dome, coupled with flower dome, it is SGD 28.

Conservatory with the best display of flowers!

The flower dome is among the two conservatories located within gardens by the bay. This one displays a wide variety of flowers grown in a climate controlled enclosure. When we went in april this year, they had a tulip festival going on. Consequently there were large varieties, types and colours, of tulips on display. They also had cherry blossom trees - seeing these was very exciting as I saw one for the first time. Other than these, there were many other types of flowers. All flowers are clearly marked. Best time to visit the dome is at about 5:30 in the eve. Entrance fee is SGD 16 just for the flower dome, coupled with forest dome it is about SGD 28.

Paradise for nature lovers

If you are a nature lover and you love the beauty of flowers and trees in their natural surroundings the place is heaven. It has wide variety of flowers and a very beautiful setup full with waterfall and salamites. It is very beautiful and you will feel refreshed after visiting the place. Most important thing is they have some natural cooling technology installed which keeps the place chilled so you don't feel the heat and can enjoy for hours without feeling tired. It is a must visit if you love nature.

Beautiful place

Visited the Gardens for the first time. Also purchased the ticket for the domes and it was definitely worth it. It would be better to take another mrt from the Marina Bay MRT station to come to the gardens if you choose to walk. The number of plants and flowers in the flower dome will be a delight for any photographer and the cloud dome is a delight to walk through. The view from the gardens of marina bay sands is also pretty great. However the food options aren't necessarily as good here, and would recommend crossing over to Gluttons Bay or similar for the same.
