The Affandi Museum, located 6 km away from the city centre, is the place where the famous Indonesian artist, Affandi lived and worked. Located along the bank of the Gajah Wong River, the museum is spread over an area of 3500 acres.

The Museum houses three galleries, a tomb and a tower. One of these galleries showcases the sketches and paintings that were created by Affandi in the early years of his life. This gallery also has a ticket box, which is the starting point of the museum. Visitors can also see the personal belongings of Affandi, like a 1976 Colt Gallant car modified to form a fish and an old wind-cycle displayed in the gallery.

The second gallery of the museum was inaugurated in 1988, which exhibits the creations of several painters. This gallery has two floors; the first floor displays abstract paintings and the second floor houses realist paintings.

The third gallery of the museum has a banana leaf shaped roof and is spread over three floors. The first floor of the gallery has an exhibition room and the Gajah Wong Gallery, where children can learn painting. From the tower near the third gallery, tourists can catch a glimpse of the Gajah Wong River. To the west of the tower, one can have a look at the house where Affandi lived.

Tourists can sit and eat at the Kafe Loteng on the ground floor of the house. To the left of the house, a cart is kept that is used for praying. One can also visit the tomb of Affandi that is located between the first and the second gallery.
